Summer is finally here! Are you planning any fun family road trips this year? All the museums in Ottawa, Wonderland Amusement Park, Elora Gorge, Niagra Falls, Kitchener Farmers Market and Octoberfest, Science North in Sudbury, so many in Ontario!!
I’m from BC and I think 3 places that are also great to check out are Stanley Park, Whistler, and the Britannia Mine Museum.
Besides the obvious (Jasper, Banff, Calgary & Edmonton), Elk Island is a great park where you can see tons of wild bison.

If you are in the GTA you should get out of the city and head to the Kawarthas! The Peterborough area has trails, awesome downtown with great restaurants, beaches, a zoo (FREE!) with a great splash pad. Definitely a great weekend away!

I live in BC you named many of the highlights in the lower mainland, Stanley Park is a gem. If you’re into gold panning, ghost towns and gold trails, you can follow gold rush routes and catch a little history, perhaps visiting a few ghost towns here and there. The Power House at Stave Lake is very informative too 🙂
well in Alberta there is the Rocky Mountains, banff, Jasper and Drumheller

“Wine Country” is the Okanagan, so if you like wine, there are some great tours!
So many wonderful parks in Ontario, Algonquin and Pinery to name two. African Lions Safari, Toronto Zoo, Canada’s Wonderland, etc…
Assiniboine Park and Zoo, The Forks and the museum of man and nature and all are in Winnipeg
The Vancouver Aquarium and Stanely park are great in Vancouver and then you can travel up the Sea to Sky highway to Whistler

There are some beautiful mountains in our area. But the skeena river is a beautiful sight.
The mousntains in Terrace are beautiful. But I also recommend the skeena river!
Barkerville BC is a wonderful historic town close to me 🙂

Everyone loves to go to The Forks here. The lakes are beautiful also!
There is so much to see and do in Toronto! We have everything from CN Tower to Thousand Islands. There’s is something for everyone!

osoyoos BC is the only desert in BC … really cool – rattlesnakes, quails, scorpions, …. and wineries 😉

Wells Gray Park has Helmcken Falls which is just spectacular. Harrison Hot Springs has natural hot springs and a great lake for water activities including boating, swimming, wind surfing etc. Kilby has a lot of historic stuff and a petting zoo as well as a great beach

We would really love to go up Muskoka, but also the aquarium in Toronto. There is a ton more, but there isn’t enough space!
So many hidden gems in the Okanagan! Just enjoyed Gellatly Nut Farm to go swimming, sit in amongst the nut trees for a picnic and then wander around the nut farm, or if you are little boys-race as fast as you can between the rows! In the fall we go and harvest a bucket of nuts as a fun way to spend and afternoon.
So many beautiful spots in NS. Blomidon Park is great, Rissers beach is our favorite spot
Centreville, cn tower, Ripleys aquarium….endless possibilities if you live near Toronto!

Stanley Park and the Seawall in Vancouver BC is amazing to check out any time of year, but summer is extra pretty!
we have nice lakes here and beaches, when they are not flooded, which they are now in manitoba.

Banff and Jasper national parks!
I`m close to Winnipeg in Manitoba, there are many wonderful lakes here, Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba are both huge with lots of great camping and beaches. One of my favorite place in Manitoba is Riding Mountain National Park, it`s so beautiful and there`s so much to do there! It`s quite a drive, though, about 4 and a half hours from here, but worth it! Also the Whiteshell provincial park is beautiful, too, but also quite a ways, close to Ontario.
In Ontario, everyone must check out Niagara Falls!

Banff, Lac Louise, Jasper and Drumheller are some of the great spot in ALberta
Whistler, BC, has the most amazing mountains…it is a world away from the city!
Wow, Nova Scotia is full of nice places to see, you just have to drive the old highways instead of the new 100 series. There’s Peggy’s Cove, Queensland Beach, Cabot Trail, Citadel Hill, Louisburg, Crystal Crescent beach (which you can drive on!!) and many many more!

Niagara falls region, of course, but we recently did Bonnechere Caves up near Ottawa and it was quite informative and fun! Be sure to check out lovely Bon Echo Provincial Park, too!
We live in a beautiful area in Ontario, small town but lots to visit. The capital and all it’s sights are only a couple hrs away, but close to home we have a few Whitewater rafting resorts, the Bonnechere Caves and gorgeous countryside charm.

Gros Morne National Park is a beautiful place in Newfoundland to check out

I may be biased, but being from Hamilton I’ve got to say the waterfalls here are amazing! Lots of variety (big, small, easy to find, etc) and the hiking trails to get to them are wonderful also.
