As a parent it is never too early to start thinking about an upcoming holiday. Easter is approaching and there are always so many things to plan! Well, thanks to Hasbro and some of their products I tried out I am ready for Easter and I am now writing to give you some ideas on how to prepare your Easter Baskets and Egg Hunt this year.
Forget about the chocolate and sweets
It seems like almost every holiday involves feeding sweets to children. Easter is advertised everywhere with little chocolate eggs and plastic eggs filled with candy. A basket full of unhealthy sweets is not the best way to celebrate and Hasbro has just what you need to ensure hours of fun without the sugar high!
Hasbro has a whole line of Easter themed treats that are sugar-free and lots of fun. If you are planning an Easter Egg hunt then start with a box of Play-Doh Easter Eggs, the colorful eggs are just like regular plastic eggs but instead of candy children will find Play-Doh inside. I love that it means they get to continue the fun for days and develop their creativity while moulding the clay.
We also received the Play-Doh Bunny & Chick Stampers These super cute toys are a mix of animal and egg. They have Play-doh inside and a stamp under their feet, you can press them down to stamp out Play-doh into shapes {carrots and chicks}. They are the perfect Easter Basket filler.
Finally, the Mr. Potato Head Spud Bunny. As soon as I showed it to my little one he started laughing and found it hilarious. Kids can use their creativity by placing the body parts in different sections and changing how the little fellow looks. The toy is recommended for ages 3 and up so we didn’t get to play with it a lot since he is younger but he did find it funny. Older kids will definitively enjoy being able to create different faces and body part angles.
We really enjoyed trying out the products we received and I like the idea of substituting toys for chocolate. If you are looking for fun alternatives to sweets this Easter then be sure to find Hasbro’s Easter products at your local department store!

I agree that our many Holiday seem to always involve food and that is not so healthy. I heard a dentist the other eveining on TV saying that small childrens’ teeth were the worst he had seen in 40 years! That should be a wakeup call to us all. Thank you for alternatives that our children will love. -el03ro

Great ideas for non-sweets, and this is also great for kids with a peanut allergy who sometimes feel left out.
