I try to make all of my son’s food at home. I love making new recipes and preparing his fruit and vegetable purees. Making his meals is really easy and takes almost no extra time but making large batches of baby food at once is almost impossible when you have a small fridge and storage trays that take a lot of space, so getting the Solids Starter Kit from mumi&bubi has been wonderful for us.
Regular storage trays usually have around 10 cubes for storage but the mumi&bubi trays have 42 cubes together! That is a lot of food to store. It saves a lot of time because you can freeze up to 42 cubes all at once.
My favorite feature is their clever design. Because of the stackable design you are saving lots of space and the lids fit securely, making spills and freezer burn non-existent.
Their website also has a link to download their step-by-step guide with 27 recipes to get starter making your own baby food. I downloaded it and got some awesome ideas for meals for my boy.
I made an Organic Sweet Potato & Apple Mash to try it for the first time and I just loved how easy the process was!
One thing to note is that unlike regular storage trays you don’t need to twist the tray to get the food out after freezing. You can just simply press on one end of the cube with your finger and the food slides out of the other end SO easy. I made some yummy apple puree and removing the frozen puree was extremely simple.
These awesome trays are free of phthalates, BPA and PVC of course and they are made from non-toxic, virgin polypropylene in New Zealand.
I recommend you take a look at their website and consider the Solids Starter Kit. It is definitively a great investment when you think of all the money you will save making your own baby food at home. Plus think of all of the health benefits for your little one.
