Looking for a high quality video baby monitor that won’t break the bank? Introducing the new video baby monitor from Levana. Available exclusively on Amazon, the Sophia Video Baby Monitor allows parents to stay in tune with their baby from the next room and beyond. Sophia, meaning “Wisdom,” features 48 hour battery life in power saving PEEP mode, temperature monitoring to ensure your little ones’s room temperature is comfortable, night vision up to 15 feet, and 500-foot ClearVu® digital signal. The Sophia Video Baby Monitor also includes Talk to Baby™ two-way communication, invisible night vision LEDs, a soothing nightlight that can be controlled from the parent unit and is expandable up to four cameras.
I use a video baby monitor in my oldest room already and I love knowing that he is sleeping safe and sound at night. With the monitor I can easily hear if he needs me in the middle of the night or if he is calling for me. We recently received the Sophia Video Baby Monitor to try and it was perfect timing as we just moved our 9 month old’s crib into his own bedroom and I was looking for a second video monitor. Using the Sophia I worry less knowing that he is safe and I can even do more stuff around the house during nap time.
Main Features:
- 48 Hour Battery Life in PEEP Mode
I love the PEEP (Power-on/off Energy Efficient Picture) function. It sets your monitor and your camera to “sleep” when there is no sound in the nursery, saving hours of valuable battery life. The second your baby makes a “peep”, the camera and monitor will activate so you can see and hear exactly what is going on. Great way to save battery life!
- Temperature Monitoring to Ensure Comfort
I don’t need to enter his room to check the temperature anymore, the camera includes a temperature sensor which feeds to the parent unit. I like keeping his room temperature between 68-71° F (20- 21° C) for better, safe sleep. Great feature!
- LED Volume Indicator
I like being able to see the sound my son makes in the monitor even when the volume is down or off. The monitor has an LED volume indicator that displays room ambiance as green, and noises or cries from yellow through orange and red depending on the volume.
- Talk to Baby™ Two-Way Intercom
You know when baby cries and then immediately calms down after hearing the sound of your voice? Well with the two-way Talk to Baby™ intercom feature you can actually communicate with your baby from your room to help calm him down. You can even use it to talk to your partner when they are in the nursery as well. Kind of like a walkie-talkie.
- Private ClearVu® Digital Signal
The Sophia Video Baby Monitor will be available on Amazon.com and MyLevana.com at the suggested retail price of $89.99. The Sophia is a fantastic video monitor with some great features and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a high value video monitor under $100. The image quality is very high even in the dark and both the video camera and monitor are lightweight and easy to travel with.

seem this brand picture quality is good…
will put this in our mind while shopping…thanks for the review 🙂
I love how sleek and compact this system is but most importantly, how it is absolutely private and interference-free! That is wonderful to hear – it is definitely on the top of my list if I am looking for a baby monitor!
Boy have these things changed over the years….the Two-Way Intercom is most impressive!
We are currently in the market for a baby monitor with a new grandbaby due in March! My daughter would love this!
Thanks for the great review!
I do wonder whether life was a little more peaceful for me since I never had anything like this when my children were small. Perhaps because I couldn’t see nor hear them unless they were louder, it meant less going into their rooms. I’m sure if I had one of these I’d have been glued to the monitor to watch my angel sleep 🙂
Nothing makes a new parent fell safer than a baby monitor
I have heard great things about Levana monitors and I really liked reading this review! I wish I had picked up a video monitor for our baby early on.
I love this. I need to put this on my baby registry.
This is a cool, would totally get this one day when i have kids 🙂
Wow, just love this
Keeping an eye on isn’t always possible so using this monitor will ease your mind
I would never be without a good baby monitor.
Hi Angela,
Thanks for the review. I was actually looking for the best baby monitor to buy and this Levana Sophia model is among the top of my list.
But I’ve a concern. A friend told me that she had bought another Levana model (I think it’s the Levana Jena) and she notice intermittent connection issue between the camera unit and the video playing unit.
Have you encountered such issue with this model? Thanks in advance.
No issues so far with ours!
levnna has done so well with their monitors. Thank for the amazing review
Looks like a great one to have
