Who didn’t love Operation growing up? Now it is available with a fun new twist…. Jake and the Never Land Pirates Operation Treasure Hunt!

This game is perfect for any pirate fan in the house. Instead of performing surgery, you are on the search for gold doubloons, pirate ships, and crocodiles. To me, it’s a much more kid friendly theme, and that won me over instantly. Add in the fact that our daughter is a big fan of Jake and his crew, this was an instant hit. She does have to wait til she is a bit older before qshe gets the hang of this game, as she is under the suggested age for this game.

It was incredibly easy to assemble, all you have to do is pop some of the pieces out, and put it together. The instructions are very straight forward. If you give this item as a gift my tip to you is to include batteries as they do not come in the box, you need to provide your own. The only little problem we ran into was the tweezers for trying to pick up the pieces were jammed into our game very tight and that took a minute to get them out. Once everything was assembled the game was all set to go.

You spin the pirates sword, and then attempt to get whatever item you land on out of the board game without making it buzz. There are also opportunities to win gold doubloons along the way. This is a great game to work on turn taking, and encouragement skills. The game can be a bit frustrating if a younger player keeps hitting the side. If playing the game as a family, play in pairs with an adult paired up with each kid if needed that way everyone can work together til everyone has gotten the hang of it. This version of Operation still has the same shocking effect you’ll remember from when you were a kid. When the buzzer goes off for the first time you will jump if you are not paying attention. It is loud. Just be careful because if you land on Captain Hook or Smee, you will loose doubloons! So work hard to keep the treasure you capture!
