First things first I don’t naturally say the word ‘soda’. It might just be a Canadianism but I would only call it pop. Don’t take that to mean I don’t like ‘soda’ because carbonated drinks are my absolute weakness. I enjoy them WAY too much and I feel guilty about enjoying them…..until I tried Zevia Zero Calorie Soda. Zevia is the new smart way to enjoy drinking pop without the guilt!
What is Zevia???
Zevia is a zero calorie, naturally sweetened drink. It is clear and doesn’t contain any caramel color or chemically processed artificial substitutes like aspartame or Splenda. Stevia, which is a little green plant from the sunflower family is up to 200x sweeter than sugar but has no caloric value or effect on blood sugar levels. How sweet is that?
There are 11 flavours available here in Canada, including Cola, Black Cherry, Ginger Ale, Ginger Root Beer, and Cream Soda. We tried an assortment of flavours and we had some clear winners for our family! For me the Ginger Ale, which is more of a classic ginger beer flavour than most conventional ginger ales on the store shelves was an instant favourite! I also really liked the Ginger Root Beer–I guess I have a thing for ginger!!! I was most excited to try the Cola and it just wasn’t what I was expecting…but just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it won’t be your fave!
Straight out of the can the first thing you will notice is that every flavour is clear. It seems strange at first after years of drinking the big two’s fare, but it should really be the other way around. Does cream soda need to be nuclear pink??? I can tell you it tastes great with no added colour so why is it even there?
Buy it at Safeway, Loblaw’s, Bulk Barn, Shoppers, London Drug, Real Canadian Super Store, Sobeys, Whole Foods Market and many other grocery and natural food stores.
What flavour would you try first?

Ive seen this and been entrigued…maybe I will bite the bullet and try!
sounds like a great product
Cream Soda would be the first one I’d try, then the ginger beer 🙂 Not too sure I’m going to like these though, usually the zero sugar ones don’t taste good to me.
i have never tried this before but I have recently heard of it. I had no idea they had a ginger ale (which is my FAV) i am gonna have to give this a try!
I don’t normally say soda either; I say pop. It’s a regional thing in Canada, just like the USA. If you’re from certain parts of Canada (mostly the east) or the Southwest USA it’s “soda”; the upper mid-section says “pop” and the same patterns follow for Canada. It’s weird that in the southern USA, all soda/pop is called “Coke”… Here is a cool map. http://popvssoda.com/ …
Thank you for the review. I love Coke and carbonated drinks, but I know its ridiculously unhealthy. I will have to check out Zevia.
I would like to try Zevia. I am concerned about all the additives in my soda of choice, diet cola, so this sounds like a great alternative.
I’m really excited to try these!
I truly cannot remember the last time I bought pop. The regular pop held lots of sugar. The diet pop contained chemicals.
I am so happy to hear that pop containing Zevia is a healthy alternative. I would like to try Cream Soda, My favorite pop as a child.
The ginger root beer and black cherry sounds yummy
The Cream Soda is delicious
This drink is so much better than pop,i love it
Sounds like I am going to try this product out
We have been buying Stevia for a time now. We have relatives that like to drink coffee and to use this non-caloric sweetener. I think my husband would love the ginger ale. I will probably find it at my Supermarket, which is mentioned above.
Thank you for this information.
