5 Reasons to Visit Playa Del Carmen, Mexico
Location, location, location: Located on the southeast coast of Mexico, Playa del Carmen is along the northwestern portion of the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by beautifully clear warm waters and soft white sand. A gorgeous place to visit to relax and enjoy some quality time with your family. Playa del Carmen is also just 45 minutes from the Cancun airport and a short plane ride if you are on the east coast of Canada.
The beaches: If you are hoping to spend time at the beach, swim in the ocean and enjoy the crystal clear turquoise waters then Playa del Carmen is your ideal travel destination. The beaches are charming and stunning, and the sand is white and soft, perfect for long walks on the beach.
Water Sports: Do you want a more active vacation? Looking for fun water sports? In Playa del Carmen you can go snorkeling, jetskiing, boating, kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, parasailing and more. So many water activities to do with your family.
History: While vacation in Playa del Carmen you can book a day trip to Chichen Itza, one of the new seven wonders of the world or drive a quick 45-minute from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. A beautiful rock formation of ancient Mayan ruins overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The Yucatan also has a variety of cenotes, underground caves filled with fresh water. A must see while you are visiting.
The food: Whether you are staying at an all-inclusive resort or going to the local restaurants, the food in Playa del Carmen is cheap and delicious. We usually book all-inclusive vacations and take advantage of the buffets in the resort. Lots of variety, fresh fruits and vegetables and delicious meat, poultry and fish for everyone in your family.
