Did you know that you can teach table manners without nagging and prodding? Golly Gee-pers! offers a unique deck of laminated Table Manner Cards (recommended for ages 4 and up) that turn learning manners into fun.
Each deck of cards has two games that help you address table manners when you are eating with your children. Cards are given out when you are at the table and the person with all thumbs ups cards and no thumbs down cards gets a “Ready to Dine Out” card (thumbs ups for good table manners and thumbs down for bad table manners).

I love that the cards have images – we use flash cards a lot with our son – and I have been using them at the table when we eat. I think it is never too early to start teaching him table manner and there is nothing better than doing it in a fun playful way.
I absolutely love this idea and I will continue to use the Table Manners cards with my son. He is a bit young to get the concept of the game right now but he loves looking at the cards and images and he recognizes the thumbs ups and thumbs down with every action.
Children tend to copy a lot of the things we adults do and I also love using the cards as a reminder to set a good example for our son during our family meal times.

Kids and adults have no manners these days, I was cussed out by some teensagers at the splash pad a few days ago after refusing to by them smokes…. It’s UNREAL, even adults, it makes me sad
Earlier times! I sound like such an old person but technology has ruined everything! And manners are so much more confusing than they used to be, before it was easy because it was pretty straightforward.

Earlier times, although I think there are still people with good manners today, it depends on the individual!
Earlier times. Even my parents were more slack than my grandparents. When I went to my grandfathers home (in England) I had to wear dresses when we went out and I better know how to act appropriately or I wouldn’t get to go out with them.

It seems like no one knows their manners anymore. We were brought up very strictly when it cames to any kind of manners or talking with respect to elders. Definitely not the same now in 2012.

What a great product idea! Manners (or lack thereof) are a pet-peeve of mine and it makes it very difficult to teach our daughter manners and to be polite, when it seems that much of society around us has forgotten about these basic qualities.

I think manners was more prevalent before however you can still find it every once in a while which is encouraging.
Answer: I think before there was more of a general adherence to table manners. But now some people are uber mannered and others just don’t care.
People had better manners in earlier times, although my daughters teachers always tell me that she has excellent manners.
