Looking for a fun classic game the kids can play at home? I recently did a fun project with my Cricut Joy. I put together a cute Tic-Tac-Toe game for them to play, with a fabric drawstring bag, some vinyl and some wood circles. It was super easy to make, and the boys love it, I find them playing with it all the time.

You can use a smaller drawstring bag if you wish, or just any size you have on hand. I had a medium size bag already at home, so I used that for my project. Same with the size of the wood circle pieces, you can completely personalize it to match your materials.

My favourite part is that they can store all the wood pieces inside the bag, for easy clean-up and storage, plus perfect for on-the-go.

Instructions

  1. Create a project on Cricut Design. If you want to use the same hearts and x from mine, head to the library and look for the "Valentine Tic Tac Toe" project. I used those images for the heart and Xs.
  2. For the board, I created two lines (selected rectangular shape and transformed it into a thin line). Measure your surface to match the size of your bag.
  3. Cut the hearts and Xs on vinyl (follow the prompts on the screen), and the lines for the board on the iron-on material. (For iron-on place the shiny side - clear liner, down on the mat, and mirror the image).
  4. Use a Weeder tool to remove all the negative pieces of the iron-on and vinyl.
  5. Apply the iron-on to the bag using the EasyPress. Use the heating tool to check the temperature and time required for your materials.
  6. Use transfer tape and the scraper tool to apply the vinyl cuts to the wooden pieces. I cut the Xs twice, once in black and then white, then applied the vinyl layered half on top of each other, to give them that 3D look.

You are done!

Loved making the pieces, you can personalize them, with any graphic, shape, or colour you would like.

What I meant when I said I cut the Xs twice; so once in black, then another round in white. If you stick the white and then the black on top (to the side a bit), they have this cool almost 3D look.
