Have you always wanted to customize your favourite hoodie/sweatshirt? In this post, I’ll show you an easy DIY to help you do just that, using your Cricut machine.

I have a pink ombre sweatshirt that I love, and I have been thinking about customizing it and adding a fun quote to it. If you know me, then you know I love coffee and crafting, so I found the perfect quote to add to it.

With a Cricut machine, you can easily customize your own hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, dresses, baby onesies; you name it! So many choices.

For this project, I used my brand new Cricut Maker 3. The latest, most powerful smart cutting machine from Cricut yet. I am so impressed with how fast the Maker 3 cuts. It is so smooth and fast, you guys! Up to 2x faster than their other machines. If you are looking to get a new Cricut machine or upgrade, I highly recommend looking at the Cricut Maker 3 here. But you can also use your Explore Air machine or older Cricut Maker.

Here’s what you will need:

Materials

Instructions

  1. Create a project on Cricut Design. If you want to use the same design as mine, head to the library and Mom Coffee Quote, the first one is the one I used.
  2. Measure your surface to match the size of your hoodie/sweatshirt.
  3. Cut the iron-on material. (For iron-on place the shiny side - clear liner, down on the mat, and mirror the image). Don't forget to mirror.
  4. Use a Weeder tool to remove all the negative pieces of the iron-on.
  5. Apply the iron-on to the hoodie/sweatshirt using the EasyPress. Use the Cricut Heat Guide website to check the temperature, time, and specific steps required for your materials.

You are done!

First, create a project on Cricut Design, and add the text or graphic you would like to use. For example, to use the same one I used, you can search ” Mom coffee quote”.

Next, add it to the canvas, adjust the size, and prepare to cut. Always use MIRROR ON when doing iron-on projects.
