Decorating My Modern Home for Halloween

I love decorating my home for Halloween.  I enjoy getting our decorations out and setting them up with the help of my boys.

Decorating for Halloween gets us excited about the fall and reminds us that we are getting closer to Christmas, our favourite time of the year. 

We try to keep things simple when it comes to Halloween decor.

I am a big fan of adding a few touches here and there without going overboard and keeping things bright and clean.

We love the simple, minimalist decor and don’t do anything too big or cluttered.

Here are some of my favourite decorations for Halloween this year. 

It all starts in the living room/front door area. First, we put some cute vinyl bat sticker decorations on the glass by the front door. 

I love that you can see them from outside, especially at night when the lights are on in the house and inside the house.

The corner of our living room, by the couch, next to the lamp, has some cute decorative plastic LED Pumpkin Lanterns.  I’ve had them for a while, and I love the sizes.

They add some colour and fun to the living room without being overpowering.

Next, a few decorative ceramic pumpkins are on the shelves.  They are small and don’t clash with the existing decor. 

You can purchase white ceramic pumpkins and paint them to match your decor.

Finally, I love adding something to my kitchen area as well. 

I always set up the cute musical ghost we’ve had for a few years with some decorative pumpkins next to it.  Simple and cute.

The kids love it and listen to the Halloween-themed songs it plays.

You can pick a simple table centrepiece decoration that matches your decor and make it the main focus point.
