I have been doing daily meditation at home for the last few years, and I aim to get at least 10 minutes of meditation time per day.
I’ve tried a couple of meditation apps on my phone, and sometimes I try meditating with just music, but getting a sense of where you are in your journey can be challenging without any specific tracking or data.
Enter the Flowtime Biosensing Mediation Headband.
This handy wearable device has brainwave and heart rate sensors to track your brainwaves, heart rate, HRV, attention span, relaxation level, stress levels and more, all in real-time.
The Flowtime Headband is easy to wear, and lightweight, you can’t even tell you are wearing it, and it tracks essential data to help you understand your patterns and how well mediation works.
The box comes with the adjustable Flowtime Headband, instructions, and a charging cable. The device comes fully charged out of the box. The battery usually stays charged for up to 8 hours of continuous use. I only have to charge it every few weeks.
You simply download the free Flowtime app (available on iOS 14 and Android 6.0) and connect the band via Bluetooth wireless connection to get all the tracking data. Then, you can use one of their many free meditation programs available, use music, or even use your music or meditation and record your biodata only.
I’ve tried their programs, and I love them. They even have a beginner’s program to help you ease into all the meditation essentials, including breathing techniques, etc. They are also coming up with a Resonant Breathing feature soon, along with more breathing techniques available on their app.
I usually don’t look at my phone while I am doing my meditation and instead look at it after I am done. That way, I can fully relax and concentrate.
After I finish my session, I go to the stats to see how my biodata looks. I like seeing progress and actual numbers with information for each meditation session. You can also see Goal Tracking rings and Trends to see Long-Term changes.
You get a 3-month complimentary membership to try their premium lessons with your headband purchase, but even without a membership, you can still access your biodata and other key information. If you don’t already have something you use for meditation, I highly recommend their app membership to get the most out of the headband.
I am a data person who loves seeing actual data and numbers—being able to track my progress after each meditation session has been excellent. My numbers change depending on my day, stress levels, etc.
Collecting all the data is helpful when trying to improve your meditation techniques and figuring out what works for you.
I now leave the Flowtime Headband on my bedside table and have it ready to use when I want to meditate.
If you are new to meditation or already practising it, I highly recommend you check out the Flowtime Biosensing Meditation Headband. Accurate data showing your progress may give you an extra push to ensure you take the time to do your daily meditation and encourage you to relax and find a moment for yourself.
You can find more details about the headband online and download the app to check out their sessions.

A Flowtime Headband looks like a fantastic way to unwind
As a nurse, I help with EEG’s, which are verey complicated and lengthy. I would be interested to know how the brain waves data works.
This is something I should try. Meditation has been recommended by my doctor before.
