Hello! My name is Angela van Tijn. I am a Canadian mom (originally from Bogota, Colombia), living in Vancouver, BC, Canada, with my wonderful husband, our sons, and our Goldendoodle doggy girl.

I am the creator and writer behind One Smiley Monkey. I am passionate about travelling, writing, photography, hiking, exercising, and spending time outdoors with my family.

I am also a Travel Advisor at Travel Best Bets.

Since becoming a mother, I have been inundated with choices in everything from feeding techniques to baby products to how and where to travel with my family. Every parent wants to make the best choices for their family, but it can be confusing and daunting. With so many products/services available and places in the world to travel to, I have tried to do extensive research (with hands-on testing) to find the best solutions to a new family’s everyday challenges and needs.
