After posting about one of my New Year’s Resolution for 2012 {to perform Random Acts of Kindness weekly} I was offered the chance to try out a set of Boom Boom! Cards available at GivingGifts.ca. I loved the idea and couldn’t wait to receive them in the mail.
The Boom Boom! Cards kit I received came with 26 Boom Boom! Cards with an intentional act of kindness written on each card and a Boom Boom! sticky note pad all organized in a handy carrying sack.
The idea behind the Boom Boom! Cards is to join an online community where you can share your acts of kindness (post picture and video if you have them) and pass the card on to someone else when you have performed the act in the card. Each card has a unique ID number that makes it possible to track the card and see where in a map the card was read and an act of kindness was performed.
It is such a neat and revolutionary idea! It just means that the acts of kindness don’t stop with you but instead continue every time somebody passes the card. You don’t necessarily have to give the card to the person involved in the act of kindness you are performing, in fact giving the card to somebody different will create even more acts of kindness in return.
The website has an easy to fill form that allows you to register your deck of cards and it means that every time somebody registers one individual card that belongs to your deck you will see their story online.
The original edition deck I received has cards with acts like: buy a stranger a cup of coffee, hold the door open whenever you have a chance, wash somebody’s car without them having to ask for it, write a thank you letter to a teacher and more… I love that I can pick a car any day of the week and have something specific that I am going to do to make somebody’s day a bit brighter.
I love the idea and I am thinking about getting a couple of decks to give as presents for family and friends. Wouldn’t these make a wonderful present? It is also just $12! I am very grateful I got introduced to the cards by the wonderful people at Giving Gifts. Be sure to visit their online store to find eco-friendly and fun gifts for babies, kids and adults. If you are in Vancouver then don’t miss a visit to their showroom at Kingsway and Fraser. Such a lovely local store!
Win it: One lucky Canadian reader will receive a set of BomBoom! Cards from GivingGifts.ca. Enter below using the Rafflecopter form.
Disclosure: I received a sample of a product to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided and all views and opinions stated on this post are 100% my own.
