Ahoy, Mateys!

I am excited to introduce you to the new PLAYMOBIL Pirate Theme line. We had a chance to test out the PLAYMOBIL Pirate Treasure Island, Soldiers’ Patrol Boat and Pirate Raft sets and the boys have been loving them. If you come over to our place one of these days you will find them singing yo-ho-ho while they navigate the open sea and look for hidden treasure. These sets are engaging and fun for both of our boys (ages 3 and 6)!

As all other PLAYMOBIL sets we have built in the past the assembly process was easy following the instructions in each box. I found these sets all had pretty large pieces so there weren’t as many steps and it was pretty easy to put them together.

We love all of the little details that make PLAYMOBIL sets more interactive and realistic, including the many accessories that come in the box with each set. The Pirate sets didn’t disappoint and they all have many fun details for the boys to discover and play with.

Pirate Treasure Island

The Pirate Treasure Island set includes three figures, a rocky island with adjustable landscape, map, treasure chest with treasure, hidden cell, booby-traps, hut, campfire, swords and many other accessories. The island is the perfect destination for little pirates to hide their buried treasure. The two main islands can be re positioned to create different landscapes and encourage creative play. In the middle of the stone arch there is a falling rock trap that can stop pirates using the buoyant rowboat to get to the island.

Soldiers’ Patrol Boat

The Playmobil Soldiers Patrol Boat is the perfect vehicle to sail the open sea in search of adventure and defend against attacking pirates. The ship actually floats on water and can be upgraded to have an underwater motor (sold separately). This set includes two Playmobil figures and lots of accessories including a moveable cannon.

Pirate Raft

The Playmobil Pirate Raft is the perfect raft for pirates to escape.  It floats on water and can quietly drift away to avoid detection and hide. The raft comes with rotating cannons and includes two Playmobil pirates and accessories. It can also be upgraded to have an underwater motor (sold separately).

As you can see in the photo below these sets have given them many hours of play time and me many hours of free time. They play together or on their own and have really enjoyed these pirate sets, great fun during rainy fall days.

Note that the sets come with working cannons with plastic projectiles. We removed the projectiles to avoid accidents as the boys are young and they may aim at eyes or face and you may want to do the same if you worry about those.
