car seat

We have four children in our home which means that we have seen our fair share of car seats over the past 10 years.  There were several things that really stood out when reviewing the Safety 1stGrow and Go Sport 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat; from affordability to comfort to ease of use, this car seat is a great fit for our family!

One of the greatest benefits is that this car seat grows with the child; from rear-facing at 2.3-18 kg (5-40 lbs) and 48-102 cm (19-40”), forward-facing at 10-30 kg (22-65 lbs) and 74-125 cm (29-49”) and at least two years old, to a belt positioning booster at 18-45 kg (40-100 lbs) and 110-132 cm (43-52”) and at least 4 years old, this car seat is all that you need.

Ease of use is a huge factor when getting four kids safely buckled up and the Quick-Fit™ Harness System allows you to adjust the height of the harness from the front, and headrest from the top, in one simple step – there’s no need to take off the cover and remove straps to get it to the appropriate size. I really appreciated the innovation of this convertible car seat that allows for the headrest to move and up down using the two levers at the top of the car seat.

Also important is how simple it is to keep it clean as you don’t need to remove the straps to get the cover off and it is machine -washable and dryer-safe.  Being that we have two vehicles and four kids, switching car seats around happens frequently and therefore the three-position recline comes in handy depending on the vehicle and child.

I never knew there was a solution to those straps that get hidden under the child as you are trying to buckle them up. This Safety 1st ®Grow and Go™ Sport 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat has harness holders!  Simply place the straps in the slots provided on the sides of the car seat when your child is removed from the car seat and then it’s all ready to go for the next time they are in it.

From a safety standpoint, these car seats have Side Impact Protection with deep side wings to keep them safe and also comfortable. The baby pillows, which are removable, allow a snug fit for their head to help keep it stabilized and cozy. I appreciate the support around their heads which also provides comfort and support when they nod off to sleep. This chair meets or exceeds Federal and ASTM Safety Standards and meets CMVSS 213, 213.1 &213.2.  It is approved for airplane use when used with its harness system.

The cup holder is an added perk that is helpful for any road trip as it can hold sippy cups, treats and toys.  The cup is removable and dishwasher safe. As mentioned on the box, this car seat is “A safer and more comfortable ride: from baby giggles to sippy cups and then on through the first years of school”.  I would definitely recommend this car seat to new and experienced parents.
