stuck onyou

I often wonder if character traits are genetic. My husband and son can both wander around a room looking for an item that is clearly right in front of their faces and claim they can’t find whatever they are looking for. I take one look and bam! There it is. Clearly the ability to find “lost” items is not strong on that side of the family. Hopefully baby E gets my incredible (not) item-finding skills.

That being the case, I am always worried Darcy will lose things at school, sports activities and worst of all summer camp. The summer camps he attends are only a week long, which leaves little time for lost items to make their way back to him. A few years ago I wised up and started labeling all of his things, which I can assure you is about as enjoyable as a root canal.

Family owned company Stuck On You has a number of products that make this process infinitely easier. With both stick-on and iron-on options, kids name labels are available in dozens of colours and designs. Plus, and this is a huge one in my opinion, there is room to add a phone number on the labels. For a one week long summer camp, this becomes critical since an item lost on the last day is far more likely to get back to its owner if there is a contact number on the rogue belonging.

At this time of year Stuck On You has a huge variety of summer items in addition to the name labels they are so well known for. Beach towels, water bottles and even post cards are now available and there is a design and colour combination available for even the pickiest of campers. Darcy thoroughly enjoyed cuddling up with the super plush and soft beach towel after swimming lessons and even helped me start placing name labels on his new camp water bottles and lunch containers. The towel was massive and even my husband would be able to use it, but might be too large for a child under 6.

I am personally a fan of the stick-on labels as they are simple peel and stick labels, but they don’t come off in the washing machine or in the dishwasher. Yet if you need them to come off, you can pick them off fairly easily with the edge of your nail. This is a major win-win scenario for me. I did find the designs were geared towards younger children and it would be nice to see a more “mature” option for the 6 and older set who are still very prone to losing things.

The Cool Kids Camp Pack of name labels includes 84 name labels, which would be more than enough for an entire summer’s worth of items and retails for a very reasonable $24.95 (CDN). The 100% cotton Beach Towel is an incredibly generous 88×177 cms and comes with one name embroidered on it for $29.95 (CDN), which is comparable with personalized towels at other major retailers plus Stuck On You offers free shipping on orders over $30.00 to both Canada and the U.S.A.
