Want a treat that is not only fun (and relatively healthy) to eat, but also fun for the family to make together? Try this raw date ball recipe. Simply soak the PITTED (dear Lord, make sure they are pitted or you’ll be slaving over each date pulling the pits out) dates in water for about four hours to soften. Drain them, then throw them into a blender with a few tablespoons of water and pulse till they are loosely chunky. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together and roll into bite-sized balls with your hands. Place the balls in a sealed container and refrigerate to firm them up for snacking throughout the week. This is a really fun recipe for toddlers to make. The raw ingredients are all safe to eat and the sticky texture equals a good hour of creating. Simply divide the raw ingredients onto a kid-friendly tray. Consider making snowmen or other silly shapes out of the mixture. You can also add other ingredients like raisins or sprinkles to jazz up the recipe.Plain Old Awesome Date Balls Recipe

I love date balls and am obsessed with them! I make my own with dates and coconut. Sometimes I use whole almonds in the middle. Sooooo good! This is a great recipe. I’ll have to see where I can buy hemp and buckwheat from. I pinned the recipe here: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/572520171352041368/
