At almost 4 years of age my son just started showing a lot of interest in watches and learning to tell time. With him going back to school in a few weeks we decided to try some very cool watches from WATCH IT! Perfect timing for a review.
We were given the opportunity to pick a Lego watch and a Timex digital watch from the store. We went to the store in person to experience the full in-store customer experience and for my son to be able to pick the watches himself. I showed him the options online before going to the store and he said he loved them all. Picking a favourite was a tough task!
We visited the WATCH IT! Metrotown location. Upon arrival at the store we were immediately greeted by the helpful store staff and they asked if we needed some help. After explaining what we were looking for they were thrilled to help us pick the watches and my son was immediately drawn to the colourful Lego watch display. A couple of other children came into the store with their family at the same time as us and they also went straight to the Lego display. Seems like anything and everything Lego is super popular with little ones at the moment. My son has been playing with his Lego sets and Lego men non stop lately.
After careful consideration he ended up picking the Lego City Policeman watch. The customizable lego kid’s police watch comes with two interchangeable bezels and a variety of colourful lego links that allow you to build your own strap. The round dial has easy to read numbers and orange-red hands to track the time. The box also includes a policeman mini-figure and lego radio. Putting together the Policeman and then the links was super fun for my son. We helped measuring his wrist to ensure a comfortable fit and he started wearing the watch right away. He loves it and he wants to learn to tell time as well. He asks us when he wants to know the time and has tried telling us the time as well. I love seeing him so eager to learn!
The Lego City Policeman watch retails for $29.99 and it has a 2-year warranty.
We also had a chance to try the Timex Kids Digital Flames watch. This watch makes the perfect first watch for little ones. It is digital and easy to read for the youngest children and it has a youthful, fun style. The watch is durable, features a high quality elastic fabric strap that is comfortable and it even has INDIGLO night-light function to see in the dark. The Night-Mode feature also has Chrono, alarm, timer, 12/24hr time and day/date. Plus it is water resistant to 30 metres! Perfect for active children. This watch retails for $34.99 and it has a 1-year warranty.
My son liked the digital watch and he liked being able to read the numbers on his own. He found it comfortable and liked the flames design. He really liked both watches but at the end he had a clear favourite, he didn’t want to take off his Lego watch. We are giving the Timex Kids Digital Flames watch to one of his little friends who I am sure will love it too, great present idea!
If you are looking for the perfect watch for your child during this back-to-school season I recommend you visit a WATCH IT! store near you. They have a great selection of watches for children that are both high quality and reasonably priced.

CoolLego watch. My nephew would love one!
Nice!!! How awesome! Big Lego fans here.
I am so glad you did a review of this watch. I saw a similar watch Lego watch at Chapters and was wondering if I should get it for him. He’s really interested in Lego and is always asking what time it is (as if he’s going to be late for something). I was worried how sturdy the watch would be with the ‘lego’ pieces on it though.
Totally sturdy and high quality! It’s perfect for little ones.
We had a lego watch when they first came out with them, year ago….my son was hooked. Such a well designed watch for little hands. And what little boy doesn’t love lego?? Girls too 🙂
Cute watches. These would make great gifts for the lego lovers
Two of my grown sons had to have Lego watches about 2 yrs back – unfortnately neither lasted long as the links kept breaking, still they had fun with them while they lasted. 🙂 (these two just never grew up!)
