I still remember the very first few days after coming home from the hospital with our brand new baby.  Nothing really prepares you for the responsibility and what it actually means to be a parent. I read many books, watched videos, took prenatal classes and talked to a lot of parents before the big day but at the end there are just so many things you need to experience on your own as a new parent.
  

There are also a lot of products that I know about now and that I wish I knew about before having my baby.  The Gro-egg room thermometer being one of those products.  Room temperature is a very important part in safe sleep for babies as inadequate temperature has been linked to SIDS in the past. Finding the appropriate room temperature was always a bit of a guess work for us as we were never sure it was o.k.

The Gro-Egg makes it easy to find the appropriate room temperature and it is easy to notice if you need to adapt the baby’s bedding/clothing or adjust the actual room temperature.  I was able to try one thanks to The Bouncing Baby Boutique.  

One thing that really impressed me was how fast it detected and displayed the room temperature. Immediately after turning it on I saw the right number and the egg had a yellow glow (indicating a comfortable room temperature). A blue glow indicates it is way too cold and a red glow that it is too hot. There is also a sad face that is displayed when the temperature is not appropriate.  I find it super easy to just glance at it and see if I need to do something about the temperature or not.  That’s great specially back in those first weeks when you need to know fast.

Something else I really like is the fact that I can also use the thermometer as a gentle night light.  Because I am usually checking on my baby in the middle of the night all I need is the glow of the egg to be able to see without disturbing him. I love that!

In conclusion I find this product super practical and easy to use and I will be using it with my next baby from day one.
