Earth Day in Heywood Park: {April 22, 2012, 12:00 Noon} Join the City of North Vancouver and other community groups to celebrate Earth Day, including the official opening of the Heywood Park playground and fish hatchery and the City´s Green Can Food Scraps Collection program kickoff. Come participate in a fish release, tour the hatchery, check out the Community Art Project and other displays, help remove invasive plants and plant local species. Tools, plants and light refreshments will be provided. Great prizes to win and fun for the whole family!
Earth Day Beach Cleanup @ Kits Beach: {April 22, 2012, 11:00 AM} Surfrider Foundation Vancouver Chapter is hosting a big Earth Day Cleanup April 22, 2012 at Kits Beach. Join us in a public display of affection for one of the great beaches Van city has to offer! Look for our tent on the grassy area. We´ll have some bags to use and some gloves while quantities last. We all know reusable is best, so bring your work gloves if you have ´em!
Lynn Valley Community Clean-up Day: {April 21, 2012, 10:00 AM} To celebrate Earth Day let´s all grab some garbage from the community. Meet at Argyle Secondary at 10:00am (Les Wilson Memorial Field). Bring your own garbage bag(s) and head out into the community to pick-up as much garbage as you can in 2 hours. Prizes for the top three participants (children only). You will take your garbage home with you for regular disposal with your home trash/composting/recycling program.
Earth Day Parade: {April 22, 2012, 11:00 AM} Family Parade and Festival with school/art competitions, music, activities, youth performers, guest speakers. Youth4Climate at Grandview Park on Commercial Street.
Wildlife Rescue Association of BC, EarthFest: {April 22, 2012, 11:00 AM} Come celebrate Earth Day at EarthFest with the Wildlife Rescue Association out at Burnaby Lake. The family nature festival features free canoe rides on the lake, bird and bee box building, guided trail walks, a seed exchange and wild arts and crafts.

We will be participating as we always do in our local Earth Day cleanup of our 2 neighbourhood parks! It always amazing me the amount of garbage that we collect from the fall and winter months.
i will be spending earth day by cloth diapering my little one and walking everywhere 🙂
