There is nothing like sitting down to enjoy a family meal and having the entire family at the table together. The Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair allows your little one to sit comfortably and safely with you meal after meal, from babyhood to adulthood.
The Tripp Trapp high chair can be adjusted to “grow” with your child and it adapts to the child’s body instead of vice versa. This ergonomically correct chair elevates the child up to the proper height at the table.
Something I love about the Tripp Trapp is that it is made out of strong, solid, cultivated beech wood that is environmentally friendly and safe. It means that the Tripp Trapp also lasts longer than plastic high chairs and you can hand it down from generation to generation, using it with multiple children as well.
The Tripp Trapp doesn’t have a fixed tray and that allows it to come closer to the table than other chairs. It slides under our table with ease and takes no extra space. The chair also blends well into our decor and it comes in a variety of colors to match different spaces.
The Tripp Trapp is very easy to set up and it comes with a booklet with easy to follow instructions. With our chair we also received a Tripp Trapp cushion ($54.99) that fits the chair perfectly and it’s super easy to attach, remove and clean. They also sent us the Tripp Trapp Babyset for children 6 months up to 36 months. Both accessories are not included with the purchase of the Tripp Trapp and must be purchased separately.
The Baby Set ($69.99) is very easy to attach and detach from the chair, there are no tools needed and you can put it on the chair in seconds. I like that it is easy to clean and it is dishwasher safe. The chair does comes with a harness strap system that keeps your little one safe while on the chair. The restrain system can be removed when the child has reached 36 months and is able to sit safely on the chair without it. You can use a tool to remove the clip under the seat plate to detach the crotch strap and a screwdriver to detach the rest of the harness from the backrest.
I love how easy it is to clean the chair at the end of the day. All I need to do is wipe it down with a clean damp cloth and it cleans up beautifully. The straps are not very easy to remove and clean but if they are really dirty I just fill a container with soapy water, set it on the seat of the Tripp Trapp and dangle the straps into it until they are totally clean. After that I pat-dry them with a towel and then let them dry overnight.
The Stokke Tripp Trapp is a beautiful, high quality high chair. It is a bit costly ($249.99) but we consider it a long-term investment. This chair can be used for many years and will most likely continue to be used with grand-kids after that. Forget about purchasing multiple high chairs and booster seats for different stages, this is the one high chair that can be used from babyhood to adulthood.

We love Stokke’s products. Great review!
What a neat product! I love how it grows with the child!
My parents night one of these when my little brother was born and we still use it ten years later any time we need extra seating. I’ve even seem a 200 lb man sit in it for a meal or two although it’s usually smaller people who sit in it. I find it quite comfortable and loved that the whole family is actually sitting at and eating off the same table.
I like how versitile this high chair is. Our challenge is we have a counter height table and so it hard to find a high chair that works with it. Do you think this one might work with a counter height table?
The Tripp Trapp is designed to be used with a standard dining table between 28-30″ high. Depending on the height of your counter table it may be too short to be used.
January 30–This Stokes Tripp Trapp High Chair seems to be the answer to where to put your child at mealtime-witht the family. Not only is it sturd, but is easy to clean and ‘grows’ to fit the child. a Wonderful chair.
All the Chair needs is the awesome Kiddy Platter placemat/craftmat. It’s a perfect accessory and we’d love to share it with you Angela. Let me know if you’d like to try it out. :o)

I really like how this highchair doesn’t take up too much space. I think it’s great that this chair pushes right up to the table so your little one can eat at the table with the rest of the family.
Wow!! I have never heard of this before!! What a great price for something that is going to grow with your child til they are adults!!
What a wonderful idea! Having a good quality chair that grows with the child would be such a great investment.
This is a great high chair that grow with your child. My niece is having her first baby this spring and a few of us are getting together to purchase a highchair. Thanks for your post because I will be showing them this and looking into buying one for her.
What a GREAT high chair!!! Wish these were around when my babies were babies…. very clever!
I like it! I have never seen a high chair like this one. It looks like a High Chair that would be easy to set out of the way in a small house like mine plus can be used for years.
I love that design
very cool how it grows with your child.
I love this chair. At last there’s a chair out there that bought once lasts a life-time! Well if it’s not too messed up with pen marks, felt tip pens etc. Still since it’s made of beechwood I guess that can be remedied too. I do find it intriguing that they do not recommend using micro fibre cloth, I wonder why???
I LIKE HOW IT CAN BE CONVERTED FOR USE BY BABY AND THEN UP TO AN ADULT
This would be perfect for my Grandson and it grows with the child … awesome chair thanks for the great review and for sharing 🙂
This chair is all kinds of awesome. Dying to get my hands on one….one day soon I hope. Such a brilliant design!

This would be the perfect chair for limited space areas, easy and foldable
What an ideal chair to own !
This is a really cool looking chair and even though it’s probably a very safe chair, I find myself thinking this minimalist chair doesn’t look safe.
I was rereading this post about the Stokke tripp trapp high chair and I am still amazed at all the features-from being made of beech wood to adjusting to your child’s growth. It is an amazing and unique high chair and really the only one you should have in your home if you want quality and style.
Stokke Tripp Trapp is a very cool versatile chair. I love it.
After reading this post again, I think this is one of the best I have ever seen. It is easy to clean, adaptable and will last for generations. Excellent value.
What tool do you use to remove the clip under the seat plate?
Hello, I was wondering if you knew what tool you use to remove the crotch strap from the high chair? I keep finding websites that refer to a tool, but I don’t know what it looks like… Thanks!
Sorry, no idea! We don’t have this chair any longer. You can try contacting the company directly to ask 🙂 They may be able to point you to the right place.
