by Angela V We are holding onto the last few weeks of the summer, enjoying the sun and spending as much time outdoors as we can by exploring our city. We love going to Kits beach, going for walks and bike rides around Stanley Park on the Seawall, visiting Science World, Granville Island, and our favourite playgrounds.
Going out to play means protecting our skin from the sun before we leave the house. We always apply sunscreen before we go anywhere, in the morning, and reapply mid-day if we are outdoors most of the day. Thankfully, the boys are used to me applying sunscreen, and we turn it into a fun game. I have explained the effects of sun exposure to them and the importance of protecting our skin from UV rays, so they understand why we do it.
We have been using the New AVEENO® BABY Sunscreen SPF 50 and new & improved AVEENO® ACTIVE NATURALS® Sensitive Skin SPF 50 mineral sunscreens, and I love that they are formulated with naturally sourced 100% zinc oxide and ACTIVE NATURALS® Oats. I just don’t want to hear that at all! Summer nearly over that means that that mean, old, freezing winter is slowly heading out way yet again! I’m hoping for an Indian Summer so winter’s freezing temperatures, snow and ice don’t arrive until shortly before Christmas. Wishful thinking I know but one does live in hope. 🙂

I couldn’t believe it when I looked out of the window yesterday and it was snowing heavily! Luckily we were still above freezing (3C) so it didn’t hang around for long. My winter tires go on tomorrow though.
We took this last weekend as a last hurrah! Saskatoon has a great labour day weekend fireworks display we attended and we hit a couple of movies. Lots of fun.
Sad that summer has come to an end, it was fun !

I was hoping that the last couple weeks of summer would be warm where I am but it’s been a little chilly lately! This time last year I was boating on the lake but alas not this year.
