We all want to have beautiful, healthy, shiny and luscious locks! Our hair can say so much about us and about how we take care of ourselves. But it is not just about beauty; hair can also show how healthy you actually are. Stick around for some tips on how to be able to grow your hair and keep it healthy and soft! These simple tips can also be applied to your entire family.

Healthy Diet: Let’s start with the basics. Eat a healthy diet with lots of greens, fruits, grains and protein. Avoid processed unhealthy food and watch your hair grow! Take care of your body by eating good foods and see how your skin and hair transform! You really have to take care of your body first to see real results; healthy food and vitamins are crucial to healthy hair growth.

Get Regular Trims: Yes friends, if you want to have long beautiful hair, you have to get regular trims to get rid of split ends. Split ends cause your hair to break off so getting rid of them is key. I schedule haircuts for the whole family every couple of months!

Use A Good Shampoo and Conditioner: Look for products that are Paraben Free, that contains Natural Extracts and use gentle sulfates I highlight my hair every few months and the chemicals can dry out my hair. Using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner is a must for me and I am really loving the results! My hair is silky and shiny and super soft to the touch without any weight-down.

Don’t Over Brush: I know it can be hard if you are used to brushing multiple times a day but try not to brush too much. Brushing can cause split ends and breakage! I brush my hair and my children’s hair once a day with a wide-tooth comb instead of a brush!

Don’t Wash your Hair Every Day: Dry-shampoo is your best friend! Skip a day or two to allow natural oils to coat your hair! I wash my hair every couple of days and I wash my children’s hair every other day. I noticed a big difference when switching to every couple of days instead of daily!

Air-Dry Your Hair When PossibleMy hair is wavy and I flat iron it so I know air-drying can be difficult for some people, however I try to air-dry my hair at least once a week to give it a break from the damaging heat of the flat iron.  If you use a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron, make sure you take breaks and let your hair dry naturally once in a while!
