HEXBUG Aquabots are little robotic fish that swim in the water and look like pet fish. They are powered by electro-magnetic propulsion and they dive up and down, changing directions to explore their environment.
We received a Clownfish Aquabot with its own Fishbowl and my son LOVES his little fish. It has been a great “first pet” experience for him and because it is portable he can actually take it with him wherever we go.
I like that we don’t have to worry about him forgetting to feed his fish or having the fish suddenly die. The fish does have batteries so we bought an extra set to have ready just in case.
The Aquabot is equipped with an automatic on and off sensor that activates when submerged in water. Here’s a little video of my little guy putting it in the water for the first time.
The Box Contains:
- 1 HEXBUG Aquabot
- 1 Fishbowl
- Two button cell batteries AG13 (LR44) are included in each fish
- The Aquabot and fishbowl package is $14.99
What was your first pet growing up? Your child’s first?

Love these, we got a couple and my kids play with them in the bath.
I love this and I want to get one for myself..lol, I think they are pretty neat and I also think it would teach the children responsibility of taking care of a pet
Oh I love this! Is it bad that I want one for myself? 😛
I saw this the other day at toys R us and my son was mesmerized by it!! He couldn’t believe it wasn’t a real goldfish.
I would take this pet over a real one any day! Low maintenance lol. I had a goldfish when I was really young. It didn’t survive the fruit loops dinner I fed it. Oops!
This is so cool, and its a great price too! I am going to look for this for my kids for sure!!!!! My kids first pet is our dog, Harley. We have had him since 6 months before my son was born and my son is 5 now.
