The boys have watched the three “How To Train Your Dragon” films and the Dreamworks Dragons series on Netflix multiple times, and they also love dragons; add PLAYMOBIL to the mix, and you have a sure hit.
PLAYMOBIL has released four new playsets to add to their hit Dragons theme. We had a chance to try out two of the new playsets, and the sets have been played with for hours. I love when the boys get building sets for fun non-stop creative, imaginative play.
We received the Snootlout and Hookfang, and the Gobber the Belch With Sheep Sling sets.
Even though our eight-year-old can build the sets completely on his own now, I always sit with them and help if they have questions. Here our four-year-old was building the Dragon sets with some of my help. These two sets were very easy to build as they didn’t have too many parts and they are recommended for ages 4+ and 5+.
NEW Gobber the Belch with Sheep Sling PLAYMOBIL Set
Join Gobber the Belch with Sheep Sling, and take part in Berk’s newest, exciting sport – dragon racing. Now that Vikings and dragons are friends, each rider teams up with his or her dragon to see who can catch the most sheep and drop them into their marked basket for points. Gobber shoots the targeted sheep into the air and the different dragon teams race and dive to catch them. The black sheep is worth the most, so be sure to keep an eye on that one! Play with this set on its own or combine it with any of PLAYMOBIL’s other dragon- rider team sets (sold separately).
Both boys loved taking turns trying to catch the sheep, I even tried it a few times and it was good fun for all.
Set includes:
- Gobber
- Sheep catapult
- Marked baskets
- Two white sheep
- One black sheep, and lots of other accessories.
AGE: 4+ YEARS | PRICE: $42.99 | AVAILABLE AT MOST MAJOR RETAILERS AND INDEPENDENT TOY STORES
NEW Snotlout and Hookfang PLAYMOBIL Set
Soar off an adventure with Snotlout and Hookfang. Both rider and dragon each have a mind of their own, and Hookfang often takes pride in doing the exact opposite of what Snotlout says. But when it truly matters, they’re both fierce warriors and together combine their combat experience seamlessly to defeat the enemies of Berk. Play with this set on its own or combine it with the PLAYMOBIL Dragon Race (the one above/sold separately), racing to drop the sheep into the marked basket.
The large dragon in this set is pretty impressive, the details on it are amazing and you can tell it is made out of high-quality materials, like all other PLAYMOBIL sets. Our four-year-old loves it and they use both sets to role-play.
Set Includes:
- Snotlout and Hookfang
- Riding saddle
- Crossbow with flaming arrows
- Viking helmet
- Shield
- Bucket with fish
- Sheep, and other accessories.
AGE: 4+ YEARS | PRICE: $44.99 | AVAILABLE AT MOST MAJOR RETAILERS AND INDEPENDENT TOY STORES
Both of these sets have been well played with, and the boys have been happily entertained for hours. If you have little Dragon fans, I highly recommend you check out the new PLAYMOBIL sets added to their Dragon’s line. These sets are both under $50 and would make wonderful birthday presents or even a Christmas gift. Yes, we are slowly approaching that time of year!

I’ve not seen these dragons from Playmobil before, they are adorable. My kids loved playing with Playmobil when they were little and could spend hours on the floor with it.
