The Holiday Spirit of Giving {Top & Hottest Holiday Toys Contest}

This year will be our 4th Christmas with our 3-year-old. I was going through old photos and I started to relive fond memories of our past holiday seasons together. Seeing photos of my then 12 month old opening his presents and his joy and sincere excitement when seeing what he received is priceless.

On that particular Christmas I remember one of his favourite presents was a little dog that moved around and barked at the same time. The look on his face when he opened the box was captured on the photo below, he was SO impressed and excited!

He has also always loved books and he received some books that he really liked as well. At that age he was very innocent and he was not writing gift lists for Santa or asking for specific toys, he was just truly happy to receive anything and to have a chance to open the wrapping paper on any and all our gifts.

This year my son has a list of favourites and even though he seems to understands the concept of gift-giving and the holidays I don’t want him to think that the holidays are just about receiving presents. I also want him to learn about giving without asking for something in return and this is why I am taking him shopping for presents for our family and friends to explain that we also give and not only receive things. I am also planning to take him with me to donate some toys to underprivileged children in the city.
