With the dreaded cold and flu season still in full swing, many people are finding themselves battling some nasty viruses at the moment. We had our share of sickness going around our home in the last few weeks but thankfully the boys are back to normal now. We are really looking forward to spring and summer because we are done with sickness, but aren’t we all?
Based on our personal experiences recovering from our colds, I’ve put together a list with the top 5 items we are using to help us survive this season. Be sure to share your own top must-haves below as well!
- Boogie Mist: Non-medicated sterile saline mist that works quickly inside the nasal cavity to ease congestion caused by boogers that won’t budge. Kids love the scented applicator tip available in Fresh and Grape scent. We love how gentle it is and that it really helps ease congestion!
- NoseFrida: The official “snotsucker”. It gently remove mucus from the nose. It may sound gross but it is actually very hygienic and safe. I have used it many times and it really provides fast relief. Highly recommend it, specially for younger children.
- Crane Cool Mist Humidifer: We have one of these for each of the children’s bedrooms and they are great when dealing with croup, congestion! The Ultrasonic Cool Mist increases air moisture for easier breathing and a good night’s sleep.
- Braun No Touch Thermometer: The Braun No touch offers the convenience of two options for temperature taking – completely non-invasive no touch or traditional forehead touch readings. I love using this when the children are sleeping and I don’t want to disturb them, no need to wake them up to take their temperature.
- Boogie Wipes: These are the only wipes we use when we have colds. Super gentle and they are made with saline to dissolve mucus, the boys love the scents too. There are NO chapped noses in this house thanks to Boogie Wipes!

You are so right on the 5-must-haves
Great products to have on hand especially a cool mister.
Plus hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy 🙂
We use the wipes and saline solution all the time as well! The humidifier is so cute 🙂
I do think that everyone should get their flu jab – it has just saved me from getting really sick. My son (an adult) came down with the flu (he didn’t get a fly jab), he had a fever and sweating madly, then he was shivering and I’ve never ever seen him look so pale, it was a tough time to get through for both of us.
I always wondered if the boogie wipes are worth it!! Baby really hates the saline spray and wiping her nose!! And we use the same humidifier and snot sucker!! Way more hygienic than the bulb ones !!
we are big fans of the boogie wipes! we have not tried the boogie mist yet but definitely a product I would love to get. and that cool mist humidifier is adorable!
I just hate it when my kids get sick–it’s the worst!
The Crane Cool Mist Humidifier is a huge hit with my godson (he loves the froggie) and his Mama loves the relief it provides. Definitely an awesome product!
I absolutely love that Crane Cool Mist Humidifer. It’s so cute!
We have had our humidifiers running all winter, but I could really use one of those NoseFridas too!
I think we need to try the saline solution!
When my son got the flu for the 2nd time a few weeks later I took him to the ER just to be on the safe side. It was just the flu but a bad dose.
Thanks for the info for colds and flu. Colds are making their rounds again this summer.
This sounds like a really good list to me. Three of our children suffered from croup and I had a humidiifer that literally saved me a lot of worry as it helped the children breathe easier and gave me a good night’s sleep. I did not know about Boogie Wipes. They did not have these when my children were small. No wonder they did not want to have their noses cleaned- leaving them with sore skin.Vaselline was good for that.
never fails, every year just after BTS the grandkids get sick, these are certainly must haves for the upcoming cold/flu season
