Visiting Calgary this weekend? Don’t miss the final days of the Calgary Stampede! This is the final weekend of the greatest outdoor show on earth. The Stampede is much more than a ten-day long celebration with midway rides and bucking broncos, the Calgary Stampede is a gathering place that hosts, educates and entertains visitors from around the world. Helping preserve and celebrate western heritage, culture and community spirit.
Stampede is always a must-do when you are in the area during the summer, lots of fun for all ages. We traveled to Calgary and spent the day at the Stampede yesterday and had a fantastic time, both kids were exhausted by the end of the day and went to sleep without a fight!!
Below are a few of the things we enjoyed during our visit.
AGRICULTURE ZONE/ANIMALS & EDUCATION
Fun area for the kids with all the farm animals and educational stations!
THE FOOD
BBQ & RIBS, yes! Do I need to say more?
MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT
THE RIDES
THE GAMES
THE RODEO
Have you been to the Calgary Stampede before? What’s your favourite thing to do while at the Stampede?
Disclosure: I received complimentary Stampede tickets for myself and my family. However, all views and opinions in this post are 100% my own.

I was in Calgary for the first time ever but it was before the Stampede began. Would love to see it one day!
We live in Victoria but I would love to go one day. I actually get their email sent to me because I am that interested… you know, just to rub salt in the wound. LOL. They always have such great entertainment!
I have not ever been, but I have had Gator BBQ when they are down here for the fair, so good!! Sounds like you had a great time and so much to do!!
The Stampede is so much fun! We didn’t get a chance to attend this year but hopefully next.
I have friends that attending the Stampede this year, and the photos in my feed are amazing!
I grew up and live in Calgary, so the Stampede is kind of “the same old”… LOL! But I do love it! I help organize some parts of it and I am always around the grounds, at the rodeo/chucks and attending various corporate events for 10 days. It’s been so hot though!!! Make sure to make a trip to the surrounding communities with the kiddos, you will really learn about Western Culture…
The Stampede is well worth a visit, there is so much going on there, various shows and displays, great food too. I’m always amazed at how fast the riders are at going round the barrels, roping etc etc.
I have never been to the Calgary Stampede before but it is something I’ve had on my bucket list for a long time. I wouldn’t even know where to start.
It was on tv over the weekend!
I would love to go to the stampede some day
I have always wanted to go to the stampede, maybe I can make it happen this coming year.
I have always wanted to go to the stampede
I know that the Calgary Stampede is a Canadian staple but for me I don’t believe in the bull riding, hog tying the calves or anything that hurts or harms the animals but everything else I like, like mechanical rides, games and food.
This is one place I’d love to visit that’s on my bucket list. I moved to Canada over 12 yrs. ago and I’ve seen only a few things here in Ontario but I’d love to travel out west and actually even out east. I’ve always liked country western stuff and riding horses was one when I was growing up. I’d love to see this rodeo!!
My daughter and family live in Calgary and are at the Stampede several times each year, they love it.
We have never visited the Stampede, maybe one of these days–would love to visit.
This truly seems an awesome event to witness for sure.
This looks like a blast!! 🙂 I’ve never been but hope to go one day.
Would love to go to the Stampede someday.
